Shumaila Khan is a novelist, relationship mentor, and emotional intelligence educator with a deep fascination for the human psyche and the invisible forces that shape our choices, relationships, and identities.
Her stories explore the delicate intersection of love, loss, morality, psychology, and the quiet battles we often fight within ourselves. Drawing inspiration from human behavior, history, philosophy, and emotional intelligence, she writes characters that are flawed, deeply human, and impossible to forget.
This Is Where I Die is her debut novel.
When she isn't writing, she's helping people build healthier relationships, studying psychology and human behavior, or chasing stories that begin with a simple question: "Why do people become who they become?"
Let's just acknowledge that relationships, whether romantic, familial, professional, or platonic, are all complicated. That's because people are beautifully complex, and so are their emotions. And yet, despite all their complexity, they're one of the few things that make life worth living.
In fact, I believe every one of us is capable of building deeply fulfilling, healthy relationships. And yes, I truly believe it's possible. All we need is a little understanding of emotional intelligence and emotional regulation to navigate the rough patches we often encounter, rather than assuming they're dead ends. This is exactly why I created Your Safespace.
Hi there,
I'm Shumaila Khan, a professionally trained relationship mentor and emotional intelligence expert. I'm here to walk alongside you as you navigate the storms of misunderstandings, heartbreak, and moments when you begin to question your self-worth. Over the years, I've supported people, both informally and professionally, through breakups, divorce, family conflict, and relationship challenges. Those conversations, together with my professional training and lived experiences, have shaped the way I coach today.
I know what it's like to feel lost, uncertain, and emotionally overwhelmed. That experience taught me the importance of compassionate guidance, practical tools, and taking one step at a time.
I don't believe in one-size-fits-all advice because every person has a different story, a different perspective, and a different path toward healing. My role isn't to give you a script to follow. It's to help you understand yourself deeply enough that the next step becomes clearer.
So if you've arrived here carrying questions that don't have simple answers, here's what you can expect from me.
I won't give you all the answers. But I do promise to help you discover them for yourself while providing you with the tools to navigate trauma, uncertainty, confusion, and self-doubt, all while keeping everything you share completely confidential.
Because sometimes, all you need is a safe space to begin a meaningful conversation.
Welcome to Your Safespace.
With warmth and hope,
Shumaila
